Ambelys pellet stove: a designer stove in three shapes

The Ambelys pellet stove is a high efficiency wood pellet stove from Schulhof Energies, designed and manufactured in France. It is available in round, octagonal or square versions, each in black, white or burgundy, and combines a patented double combustion system with a room-sealed design and very quiet operation.

A designer pellet stove in nine combinations

Every Ambelys is built around the same firebox. What changes is the outer section: you choose a round, octagonal or square body, then a black, white or burgundy finish. That gives nine combinations, so the stove can suit a contemporary open-plan room as easily as a traditional sitting room.

The round version is the most sculptural of the three and is often the one people mean when they look for a round pellet stove. The octagonal and square versions are slightly more compact in footprint and sit neatly against a wall or in a corner. All three share the same 1,014 mm height, the same performance and the same 26 × 40 cm curved glass, which gives a wide view of the flame.

Interchangeable cladding: an upgradable stove

The cladding of Ambelys is interchangeable. If your tastes change or you redecorate, you can later change the casing, both its shape and its colour finish, on the same stove instead of replacing the stove itself. The swap is carried out by a professional; ask us for details.

A high efficiency pellet stove: key figures

With 92% efficiency, Ambelys turns most of the energy in your pellets into heat in the room. It runs at two power levels, 6 kW and 8.8 kW (nominal output 8.8 kW), which puts it in the 9 kW pellet stove class, and hot air leaves the front at up to 158 °C. Behind this high performance is its patented double combustion, which burns unburned gases and fine particles in a second flame inside the stove, before they reach the flue.

Measurements were taken to EN 16510-1:2022 and EN 16510-2-6:2022. For comparison, the Ecodesign limits are 300 mg/Nm³ for CO, 200 mg/Nm³ for NOx and 20 mg/Nm³ for particles.

Clean burning, quiet running, room-sealed

About 95% of each pellet is burned, so there is very little ash or unburned residue to deal with. A three-sector airwash keeps the glass clean for days, and a dry cloth is usually enough to wipe it.

Ambelys is a room-sealed pellet stove with a CSTB technical assessment. Combustion air is drawn in through a concentric 80/120 flue on top of the stove rather than from the room, so there are no cold draughts and the stove is well suited to airtight, well-insulated homes. It is also a quiet pellet stove: the fan turns at 300 rpm, the feed screw runs on ball bearings and you do not hear pellets dropping into the burner.

Wifi pellet stove: app control and self-regulation

Ambelys is a wifi pellet stove: with app remote control, you can start it or change the setting from your phone, even before you get home. The remote control and the colour touchscreen are there too.

Ambelys is also self-regulating: it automatically adjusts its heat output to the room temperature, so you do not have to change the power setting by hand.

Wifi and remote maintenance are included as standard: a trained technician can connect to the stove and diagnose a problem remotely, which can save a call-out or help the engineer prepare a visit.

Dimensions and installation data

All three versions are 1,014 mm high, weigh 130 kg and run on a 230 V / 50 Hz supply. The flue outlet is a vertical concentric 80/120 connection on top (inner diameter 80 mm, outer diameter 120 mm).

A 15-year warranty on the heat exchanger

Ambelys comes with a 15-year warranty on the heat exchanger, 10 years on the structure and 3 years on the electronics. These long terms reflect the way the stove is designed and built in France.

Ambelys pellet stove price

Prices in France, including 20% VAT, are €6,000 for the round version, €5,820 for the octagonal version and €5,640 for the square version. They cover the stove only, excluding delivery. Schulhof Energies does not install flues: installation and connection are carried out by a qualified installer of your choice, as they depend on your room, your flue route and local rules.

If you live outside France, taxes, delivery and installation arrangements differ. Please contact us and we will prepare a quote for your country.

How to order

Ordering takes three steps. First, choose your shape and finish in the online configurator, which gives you a personalised PDF quote. Next, ask a qualified installer of your choice to check the room, the flue route and the clearances. Finally, your installer fits the stove and its flue: Schulhof Energies supplies the stove only and does not carry out flue installation.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ambelys a 9 kW pellet stove?

Its nominal output is 8.8 kW, with a lower setting of 6 kW, so it sits in the 9 kW class. The right output for your home depends on its size and insulation, which we check during the on-site visit.

Do the round, octagonal and square versions perform differently?

No. All three use the same firebox, so efficiency, emissions, output, noise level and hopper capacity are identical. Only the outer section, footprint and price change.

Does Ambelys adjust its output automatically?

Yes. Ambelys is self-regulating: it adjusts its heat output by itself according to the room temperature, so you do not need to switch between power levels manually.

How long does a full hopper last?

The 30 kg hopper holds two 15 kg bags and lasts about 17 hours at full power (8.8 kW). At the lower setting it lasts longer.
